Happy 100th Anniversary BC Parks!
Spirit of the North congratulates BC Parks on celebrating their 100th Anniversary this year!
BC Parks will kick off their festivities on March 1, 2011 which marks the 100th Anniversary of the birth of the first provincial park in the province which was Strathcona Provincial Park situated on Vancouver Island.
BC Parks announced that they are working with "communities, First Nations, youth and sector areas such as arts, heritage and tourism" to create and host a variety of celebrations and events throughout the province.

Last issue
Celebrating 100 years with Parks Canada this latest issue features all 42 National Parks in this great country. In addition to an indepth look at our parks we also boast stories on the Spatsizi, Ptarmigan and much more. We also show off our talented photo contest winners in our photo gallery and have even added a couple great regular features.
Subscriptions
You can subscribe on line or send a cheque or money order in the mail to the address on the subscription page. There are currently four issues a year and new subscribers can still ask for a copy of the Special Olympic Issue. If you have subscribed to Spirit of the North and are missing any issues since you started your subscription, please let us know. It seems a fair amount of our special Olympic issue went MIA in the mail last year and we need to hear from you if you didn't receive one. The next issue is slated to come out at the end of March 2011. Thanks for joining Spirit of the North as we look forward to bringing you more great issues in the future.
Summer issue
Summer has begun!
Summer is finally here across this great country we call home. Picnics, swimming and holidays are just a few great things that have returned and another is the next issue of Spirit of the North. There are going to be many great stories including the cycling trek through the Rockies, a cross-Canada journey on the rails called Finding Home, Little One - a light hearted adventure with a little fox kit, our photo gallery is on the great bears of Canada and many more reading delights. We are also bringing in a new feature that will showcase places to stay and things to do in several regions across Canada as well as a special culture section. So stay tuned for the next great issue. We look forward to hearing from you and welcome any comments or suggestions you might have.
